The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2007 on 18th May, 2008 for recruitment the 671 posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and certain other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services / Posts.

  Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2008 (MHT-CET 2008)
 

Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education and is accepted by over 80 institutes in Maharashtra , including the prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS). This year’s CET written test was held on February 26. This year, non-Maharashtra students were reportedly required to score 135 marks out of 200 in order to make it to JBMS. The reported cut-off for Maharashtra students was around 130.

Date of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test MHT CET 2008: Thursday, 8th May 2008

Government of Maharashtra shall conduct a single combined "Common Entrance Test" MHT CET 2008 for all Health Science, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2008-2009. The said CET will be held on Thursday, 8th May 2008.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility for MH – ENG – ASSO – CET: A candidate should have passed / appeared in the HSC ( std. 12th ) examination from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Age Limit:

There is no age limit for admission into the MBA/MMS degree courses.

Admission to Bio-Medical / Bio-Tech Engg. Courses: Candidates seeking admission to Biomedical / Bio-Tech Engineering course should have passed in the subject of Biology in the qualifying examination in addition to fulfilling the above mentioned eligibility criteria.

Test Pattern:

MHT Common Entrance Test (CET) consists of 3 papers

  • Physics – 50 Marks
  • Chemistry – 50 Marks
  • Mathematics – 100 Marks

The medium of Question Paper is English only. The syllabus in physics, chemistry and mathematics is similar to that of HSC examination board Maharashtra.

Objective type written test:

Total number of question: 200

Time allotted: 150 min

Number of choices per question: 5

No negative marking
